The surface must be made dry prior to the \u003cbr\u003eapplication of the sealant. \u003cbr\u003e\u003cstrong\u003eMasking ;-\u003c\/strong\u003e\u003cbr\u003ePrior to application of primer and sealant, apply masking \u003cbr\u003etape to the adjacent sides of the joints for getting a neat \u003cbr\u003efinish and to avoid the spilling over of the sealant on the \u003cbr\u003eedges.\u003cbr\u003e\u003cstrong\u003ePriming :-\u003c\/strong\u003e\u003cbr\u003eUnder normal circumstances priming is not required. \u003cbr\u003eHowever, for very dry and porous surfaces, it is \u003cbr\u003erecommended to apply one coat of a solvent based bitumen \u003cbr\u003eprimer (Polyprime SB)*. Similarly for joints subjected to \u003cbr\u003econtinuous immersion, priming is recommended.\u003cbr\u003e\u003cstrong\u003eApplication :-\u003c\/strong\u003e\u003cbr\u003eThe sealant can be applied by means of a spatula or trowel. \u003cbr\u003eAs the product is solvented, it is recommended to mix the \u003cbr\u003econtents of the pail with a paddle mixer for a few minutes \u003cbr\u003eprior to the application to ensure a homogenous mix. Sealant \u003cbr\u003eapplication should start form the bottom of the joint\/groove \u003cbr\u003eand continued to the top. Immediately tool the joint with the \u003cbr\u003espatula or putty knife to smoothen and compress the sealant \u003cbr\u003eto effect total contact with joint surfaces.
